Dr. Zhengdong Long

Dr. Zhengdong Long was promoted from a Materials Engineer to
Associate Director for the Center for Aluminum Technology (CAT)
on July 1, 2008. He joined Secat, Inc. and the Center for Aluminum
Technology in December of 2001 with 9 years experience on superalloys
and Aluminum alloys. He has a strong background in R&D of new
materials development and quality control. Dr. Long has extensive
knowledge and experience in physical and mechanical metallurgy
of Aluminum and Special Alloys, ingot casting, forging, hot
rolling, cold rolling, heat treatment, inspection and application.
He has strong skills in materials characterization by microstructure,
texture, mechanical properties, formability and corrosion evaluation
using modern testing and analysis facilities including SEM,
TEM with EDS, X-ray diffraction, MTS 810 and DSC. He also has
strong skills in FEM modeling by using ProCAST software and
thermodynamic calculation by ThermoCalc software. |
