Dr. Weimin Yin

Dr. Yin is a Materials Engineer at Secat, Inc and at the Center for Aluminum Technology. He received his Ph. D. in Materials Science from Polytechnic University at Brooklyn, NY in June 2003. He served a fellowship from International Centre of Theoretical Physics, UNESCO, at an Italian National Lab (CNR-TeMPE) for one and half years (1996-1997) and won the Noah A. Kahn ASTM Committee E-7 Award for excellence in testing and analysis in 2001. He has two patents to his credit and more than 20 published papers.
Dr. Yin has over a decade of experience in structured materials, including intermetallics, superalloys, nanostructured metals and aluminum alloys. His diverse experience includes casting and directional solidification of superalloys as well as rolling and extruding of intermetallic alloys. He is specialized in microstructure characterization and mechanical testing with strong hand-on skills in SEM/EDS, TEM, XRD, DMA, Instron and MTS testing system.
