President & COO, Ormet Corporation

Michael S. Williams is President and Chief Operating Officer of Ormet Corporation, having been named to the position in November of 2002. Ormet Corporation, headquartered in Wheeling, WV, employs approximately 2,600 people through its subsidiaries, Ormet Primary Aluminum Corporation and Ormet Aluminum Mill Products Corporation. The Company operates seven facilities in five states and produces high-quality aluminum products for the fabrication, extrusion and conversion markets.

Prior to that he served as Vice President of Operations and Sales for Ormet Aluminum Mill Products Corporation. In this position, Williams was responsible for operations and sales of several Ormet facilities. These included the Hannibal (Ohio) Rolling Mill, which produces 400 million pounds of premier sheet products annually; the Jackson (Tennessee) Coated and Foil Division; the Iuka (Mississippi) Lamination Division (which since has been sold); the Bens Run Recycling Facility in Friendly, West Virginia, and Special Blanks Inc., located in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Before to coming to Ormet in 1999, Williams was manager of several divisions of USX/US Steel Corporation, including Hot Rolling, Melting & Casting, and Systems & Process Control. He also was a Senior Automation Engineer for Armco Steel Corporation; a Supervisor at Koppers Corporation; and a Systems & Process Control Consultant for Automated Systems Research & Development.

Williams received his Bachelor's of Science in Information Science with a minor in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1983. In addition, he is a 1998 graduate of the Indiana University Executive Management Program.

Williams is a former member of the American Iron & Steel Engineers, and a present member of the Aluminum Association.
