K. Alan Dick was named Senior Vice President and General Manager for Building & Construction and Light Gauge businesses within Aleris Americas in September 2008. Prior to that, Mr. Dick served as Senior Vice President Manufacturing, Rolled Products North America since December 2007, Senior Vice President, Global Metals Procurement from January 2007 and Vice Presient, Metals Sourcing from 2004.

Prior to 2004, Mr. Dick had been Director, Raw Material Purchasing for Commonwealth Industries, Inc. and had held a number of positions in the Commonwealth supply chain function since 1998. Prior to joining Commonwealth, Alan was Vice President and General Manager - Pacific Region for Ideal Metals. He began his career with Pechiney SA in Canada where he held several positions including Vice President.
