Khraisheh appointed to Secat-Morris professorship

Dr. Marwan Khraisheh, associate professor in the University of Kentucky Department of Mechanical Engineering and a prominent researcher in the field of materials processing and manufacturing research, is the first recipient of the SECAT-James G. Morris Aluminum Professorship.

Dr. Subodh Das, President and CEO of Secat, Inc. praised the contribution that Dr. Khraisheh has made: "I am very pleased with his selection. Marwan has been very actively involved with Secat during last three years where we have collaborated with him on many research projects and training of graduate students."

Secat, Inc. funds this professorship, honoring the contributions of Professor Emeritus James G. Morris, who is recognized as one of the world's foremost authorities on the thin-sheet rolling of aluminum. Secat has a metallurgical research laboratory specializing in aluminum technology.

The services offered by Secat include assisting companies with materials testing, failure analysis, alloy development, and the enhancement of processes & properties. Dr. Subodh Das serves as president of Secat, Inc. and as director of the Center for Aluminum Technology (CAT) in the University of Kentucky College of Engineering.
