Center
for Aluminum Technology
The College of Engineering's Center for Aluminum Technology
was established in September 1999 as a multidisciplinary center
providing research and educational services to the aluminum
industry in the United States. Aluminum industry leaders, local
officials, the University of Kentucky, and the Kentucky Economic
Development Cabinet collaborated to form the nation's only aluminum
research laboratory supported by such a partnership. |

Gatton
College of Business and Economics
In addition to providing undergraduate and graduate degrees,
the Gatton College of Business and Economics offers cutting-edge
research in areas such as economics and business development.
The Gatton College houses 11 research and service centers
where faculty members focus on key research topics and provide
services to the Commonwealth and the nation. |

Industry Center for a
Sustainable Aluminum Industry
The UK Sloan Industry Center is a community of scholars interested
in identifying, facilitating and disseminating innovative observation-based
business research on keeping America's aluminum industry sustainable.
Key themes for the Center are: Recycling programs, workforce
development and deployment, and supply chain management. The
research results from the Center will contribute significantly
to the competitiveness of the Aluminum industry to a global
marketplace. |

Institute of Technology
IIT is a private, Ph.D.-granting institution with programs in
engineering, science, psychology, architecture, business, design
and law. The Thermal Processing Technology Center provides research
and testing services in the fields of materials and aerospace
engineering. |

Lehigh
University Institute for Metal Forming
Guided by the directorship of Prof. Wojciech Misiolek, the Institute's
main research objective is to conduct cross-disciplinary process
engineering studies, in order to better understand and control
forming techniques and their impact on the microstructural response
of a material. |
